6 apples, sliced (granny smith work well)
3/4 - 1 c sugar (depends on tartness of apples)
1 tsp cinnamon
2 T flour
2 T butter
2 pie crusts for top and bottom
In large bowl mix together sliced apples, sugar, cinnamon, and flour. Stir until mixed thoroughly. Place bottom pie crust into the pan and pour apple mixture into pie crust. Top with dots of butter and add top crust that has been vented with 4-5 slits. May brush top crust with beaten egg white and 1 Tbs water.
Bake at 450 for 15 minutes then reduce temperature to 350 and bake for additional 45 minutes.
