Oriental Cabbage Salad

1 (3 oz) pkg Top Ramen with chicken flavor
4 c shredded cabbage
4 green onions, sliced
2 T sesame seed- opt
3 T vinegar
2 T sugar
2 T salad oil
1/2 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp salt
1 c slivered almonds, toasted

Crush noodles, slightly; place in colander and pour boiling water over noodles to soften.  Drain.  In large mixing bowl, combine noodles, cabbage, onions, and sesame seed.  For dressing, combine seasoning packet from noodles, vinegar, sugar, oil, pepper, and salt.  Mix well.  Pour over cabbage and toss.  Cover and chill several hours or overnight.  Before serving, stir in almonds.  To toast almonds, put them in a shallow dish and bake at 350 until brown.
